Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry (Nights)

Location: Lima, Ohio
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide patient care on assigned shift within the health system’s mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria.
• Make clinical judgments based on scientific knowledge and skills.
• Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries.
• Float to all units within skill level as required.

Required Qualifications

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years required
• Experience Requirements:

  • Post-operative open heart care (required)
  • Chest tube and other drain management (required)
  • Pre- and post-procedure care for patients with radial and femoral access (required)
  • Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, including reading/interpreting cardiac rhythm strips and responding to changes (required)
  • Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities (required)
  • Experience with assisting chest tube removal, removal of pericardial pacing wires, management of temporary pacers (pericardial and transcutaneous), use and troubleshooting of non-invasive ventilation (NIV) devices, high-flow oxygen, and other oxygen delivery systems (required)
• Preferred Experience: Critical care experience highly preferred
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Active Ohio RN License (or Compact RN License)
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
• Skills Checklist: Must have a current skills checklist pertinent to Telemetry specialty (within 1 year)

• Floating to other units within scope and skill set is mandatory; refusal may result in being sent home without pay for the week.
