Job Opportunity: Pathologists' Assistant (Laboratory)

Job Description

• Prepare, grossly describe, and dissect surgical pathology specimens.
• Perform postmortem examinations under the medical direction of pathologists.
• Exercise independent judgment and initiative to schedule, organize, and plan work.
• Ensure accuracy in specimen collection and labeling.
• Adapt and be flexible in emergency situations, including working additional hours or shifts.
• Work efficiently, accurately, and alertly for extended periods and under stress.
• Utilize knowledge of Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), and relevant laboratory instrumentation.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• (PA)ASCP certification required; equivalent certifications are not accepted.
• BLS (AHA) certification required.
• Must have a permanent address outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
• Must have own vehicle for transportation.
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and approved at the time of application; no more than 5 days of RTO allowed.
• Work history, skills checklist (updated within the last year), one supervisory signed reference (within past 2 years), and all licenses/certifications must be uploaded with the application.
• Schedule accommodations will not be considered after submission.

Additional Information

• Non-billable orientation: 8 hours.
• Holiday and overtime pay multipliers apply.
