Shift: Nights (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM)

Unit Overview

• Level of Care: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Number of Beds: 55
• Patient Population: Adults primarily; pediatric patients 15 years and older are rare
• RN-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4 (both day and night shifts)
• Nursing Assistant Support: Yes
• Charge Nurse: Yes
• Additional Unit Support: Educator, Care Managers, Social Workers, Dieticians, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Stroke (CVA, TIA), shortness of breath, COVID-19, subdural hematoma, weakness
• Common Drips/Medications: PCA pumps for pain management, cardizem, insulin
• Specialty Equipment: Mechanical lifts available in every other room
• EMR System: EPIC
• IV Pumps: Alaris

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Additional Competencies: Telemetry skills required
• License: Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Experience: (Not explicitly stated; assume standard RN experience for PCU)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required
• Driver’s License: Required at time of application to verify distance compliance (must live within 50 miles radius)
• Nail Policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply will result in contract termination
