Overview

Night shift PCU RN role in Omaha, Nebraska.
13-week contract.
12-hour nights, 36 hours per week.
Unit has 35 beds.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Nebraska.
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience).
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year.
ACLS issued by American Heart Association.
BLS issued by American Heart Association.
NIHSS.
Driver's License.

Helping others.
Good communication skills.
Critical thinking.
Ability to problem solve.

Unit Details

Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with cardiac, nephrology, strokes, diabetes, and continuous EEG monitoring.
Common titratable or set-rate drips include Cardizem, betablockers, and seizure medications.
Charge nurse is present on each shift.
Nurse aide/patient care tech ratio is 1:10 or 2:20.
Floating may include medical floors, ICU, or rehab.
Orientation includes the first week onboarding, then 1–2 days on the floor.

Schedule

Every other weekend required.
Every third holiday required.
No call or standby requirement.
RTO must be provided upfront; 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract. Additional RTO will not be approved.

Additional Notes

Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments.
Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
There is a pass/fail exam during orientation.
