Overview

• Med Surg/Telemetry RN
• Location: Wickenburg, Arizona
• Start: ASAP
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 1900-0700
• Hours: 36 per week

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• At least 2 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

• NIHSS
• Experience with cardiac drips

Unit Details

• Department: Medical Surgical | RN
• 19 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3-5 on days and nights
• No peds
• Tele is remote central monitoring at another facility; monitor tech reads and RNs verify 3 times per shift
• Charge nurse on both shifts; traveler may be used in a charge nurse role depending on experience and staffing
• 1 nurse aide per shift
• Unit secretary on most days

Clinical Details

• Common diagnoses/types of patients: A-fib rvr, respiratory distress, weakness, urosepsis, extended recoveries, total hips/knees/hernia repairs
• RNs set rate only for drips
• Common drips: Cardizem/Amiodarone, heparin
• RT equipment: O2, cpap; Bipap typically ships out

Schedule and Work Expectations

• Block scheduling is not guaranteed
• Every other weekend required
• Expected to work holidays if needed
• No call or standby
• No floating

Orientation and Dress Code

• 1-2 shifts of unit orientation with a preceptor
• Clean and professional scrubs; no specific color
