Location

Contract

• 13 weeks
• 12-hour nights
• 36 hours per week

Unit / Setting

• Med Surg / Ortho
• Hospital-based inpatient nursing
• Floating may be required to Med Surg, rehab, or PCU taking Med Surg acuity

Patient Population

• General med-surg and orthopedic patients
• Common cases include total knee replacements, total hip replacements, ankle replacements, total shoulders, and spine surgeries

Required Qualifications

• RN experience in general med-surg and orthopedics
• BLS certification
• Driver’s license required at submittal

Schedule / Workflow

• Every other weekend
• Holidays rotate with permanent staff
• Self-scheduling with cyclic rotation
• 1 day of unit-specific orientation
• Call-back expectation: if called in after being placed on call, arrival is expected within 30 minutes

Additional Notes

• Radius rule: candidates must live outside 50 miles
• Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity
• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
• RTO must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
• Telemetry boxes are used on the unit; tele techs read and interpret strips
