Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVOR)

Location: Kankakee, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience to support surgical cases including CABG, TAVR, Valves, Impella, and IABP. The role involves scrubbing in both CVOR and main OR cases, with potential floating to the main OR when CVOR cases are not scheduled.

Schedule & Shifts

• Typical shift: 06:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• For CABG cases, start time is 05:30 AM
• Potential for 12-hour shifts (to be discussed with management)
• On-call most weeknights (rarely called in)
• Weekend call every or every other weekend based on unit needs
• Holiday coverage expected if needed
• Call response time: Must be within 45 minutes while on call

Work Environment

• 2 CVOR suites available (typically use one at a time)
• Average 2-3 cases per week
• Scrubbing required for CVOR and main OR cases
• Charge nurse responsibilities included
• Floating to main OR as needed
• Unit/department orientation: 1-2 shifts
• Scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, minimum 1 year within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS Certification
• Experience in charge nurse roles
• Orthopedics experience
• Neurology experience
• Vascular Surgery experience
• Experience with Epic EMR

• Local candidates within 20-50 miles considered
• Must be able to respond within 45 minutes when on call
• Charge nurse duties included in role
