Job Opportunity: Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN (7th Floor)

Location: Silverdale, Washington
Unit: Medical/Surgical Telemetry, 7th Floor
Unit Size: 32 beds
Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:

• 4:1 (50% of shifts)
• 5:1 (50% of shifts)

Contract Length

• 10 weeks

Required Experience & Certifications

• Minimum 2 years Medical/Surgical experience with Telemetry
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications
• Active Washington State RN License

Job Details

• Orientation/Education: Expect 25+ hours during the first 2 weeks; orientation hours are not guaranteed during this time
• RN responsibilities include titrating drips such as insulin and pain medications
• RNs validate telemetry strips (centralized telemetry system)
• Floating to other units may be required
• Shifts:

  • Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Self-scheduling with the ability to fill open shifts
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday requirement: One winter and one summer holiday
• Possible standby status, but no call required
• Dress code: Professional and clean; no jeans

Unit Support & Environment

• Charge Nurse and House Supervisor present
• Nurse aides available with ratios averaging 8:1 to 10:1
• Respiratory equipment includes BiPAP and high flow oxygen
• Highly functioning, family-oriented team with great support
• No Return to Office (RTO) requirement for the first week of assignment

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• Must have active certifications and license before starting
• Auto offer based on clinical recommendation; start date and return to office approval required by unit manager
