Job Description

A Critical Access Hospital in Wisconsin is seeking a Respiratory Therapist traveler. The role involves working with mostly adult patients, with some pediatric stabilization and neonatal support during high-risk C-sections. The position covers multiple areas including ER, SPCU, OB, Stress Lab, PFT lab, and EEG lab, with some teaching opportunities depending on contract length and availability.

Required Qualifications

• License: Respiratory Therapist license required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy, including:

  • Mechanical ventilation (including NIV with Hamilton C1)
  • Inhalation therapy
  • EKGs, ABGs, ISTAT
  • Neo puff and support for high-risk C-sections
• Preferred: Experience with Epic electronic health records system
• Intubation: Ability to assist with intubation (independent intubation not required)

Work Schedule & Environment

• Shifts: Days and nights (12-hour shifts, 6-6:30)
• Weekend: Every other weekend required
• Holidays: Work holidays if on block schedule; otherwise, fill in as needed
• Call: No call or standby call required
• Orientation: One 12-hour shadowing shift with department director
• Dress Code: Professional scrubs of any color
• Equipment: Hamilton C1s and T1s ventilators, ResMed home CPAP/BIPAP

Additional Information

• Patient load: 4-8 treatments per round
• Neonatal patients are typically stabilized until transfer
• Hospitalist or intensivist coverage during the day; on-call support available at night
• Housing can be challenging or expensive in the area—candidates should confirm housing options prior to accepting
