ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Wyoming
Location
- City: Cheyenne, Wyoming
- Near outdoor activities such as hiking
- Permanent address must be at least 25 miles from the facility location
Assignment Details
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights
- Hours per day: 12
- Hours per week: 36
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday requirement: Must be flexible to work holidays as needed
- Call/standby: Occasionally required for low census
- Floating: Required to Med/Surg; possibly ER if experienced
- Orientation: 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
- Scheduling: Block schedule not guaranteed; scheduler assigns shifts with some flexibility
- Expectation: Be on unit and ready by 6:45 PM for daily huddle and report
Unit Information
- ICU with 15 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: Typically 1:2; some patients 1:1
- Charge nurse available 24/7 as a resource, does not take patient assignments
- Respiratory therapist available 24/7 depending on vent census
- Telemetry monitors on unit; nurses read strips with tech assistance
- Common patient diagnoses: Sepsis, COVID, trauma, CABG (not fresh post-op), respiratory failure, overdose, alcohol-related issues, suicidal ideation, post-op care
- Equipment: Vents, BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, Swan-Ganz catheters, IABP, ventricular assist devices, STEMI care with TR bands/femoral access
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience (must be recent, not outdated)
- Certifications required prior to start: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- TNCC certification preferred
- Experience with ventilator and BiPAP troubleshooting
- Epic electronic medical record experience required
- Ability to titrate all critical care drips including sedation, pressors, antiarrhythmics, paralytics, etc.

- Nurses participate in daily huddles and report
- Travelers often extended due to positive experiences
- Nurse aides available, one per shift
