OR Scrub Tech - Hawaii, Hilo

Job Type

Contract position
Contract length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

Operating hours: 06:45 AM to 11:15 PM (shifts may vary based on department needs)
Scheduled for 40 hours per week, with possibility of 32 hours during holidays
On-call coverage 24/7, assigned on average 1-2 times per week plus up to 2 weekends per month
Call back time: 20 minutes
Orientation on day shift for up to one week or as determined by management

Job Duties

Assist with turnover cleaning
Transport patients as needed
Independently scrub for procedures including:
- General surgery
- Orthopedic
- Vascular
- Ophthalmic
- Urology
- ENT
- Endoscopy
- Robotic surgery
- Obstetrics and Gynecology
Types of cases primarily include Endoscopy
Work in a small but busy and efficient OR with 1-2 outpatient GI labs and 1-2 rooms running simultaneously daily

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist, including experience within the last year
Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
Must have or obtain an active Hawaii state license by the start of the assignment
BLS/BCLS certification required
Must complete a minimum of 39 shifts during the contract if requesting time off
Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday

It’s always 4 to 1 except hallways you might only have 3. The staff is so kind and welcoming I have nothing bad to say about them. This was my favorite assignment so far
