Job Opportunity: Level II Nursery/Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Vail, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide care for antepartum patients, laboring patients through childbirth, recovery, and postpartum.
- Offer lactation education and assistance.
- Deliver family-centered care including care for well newborns and the Level II Nursery.
- Collaborate with providers, staff, and team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Oversee daily patient flow to optimize care, safety, and satisfaction.
- Triage incoming patient requests for services.
- Educate patients to facilitate care plans and promote wellness.
- Delegate care appropriately according to Colorado statute.
- Perform healthcare assessments, prioritize tasks, and apply critical thinking skills.
- Handle high telephone volume related to patient requests for medications, information, and assistance.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist in procedures while adhering to patient safety guidelines.
- Coordinate patient care with other physician practices and healthcare providers.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Advocate for patient safety, preferences, and communication through Relationship-Based Care.
- Model Just Culture principles and organizational values.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
- Associate Nursing Degree or higher (for hires after 07/01/2018).
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Colorado or a valid compact state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Physical Activity Requirements
- Occasional sitting, standing, walking, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching above shoulder (1-33% of the time).
- Frequent lifting up to 35 lbs (34-66% of the time).
- No running, driving, climbing, or crawling required.

3 12’s, not a lot of call. Easy surgical procedures, hospital provided housing (will have roommates). Beautiful landscape.
Cons
Cost of living. I-70 closes down a lot during winter. Staff drama. Some doctors are rude and condescending. Favoritism. Travelers will be sent into rooms so they can send full time staff home early.
