Location: Chariton, Iowa Specialty: Medical Laboratory Employment Type: Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 PM–5:00 AM Hours per Week: 36

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist, with Medical Technologist experience within the last year
Associate degree in medical technology
Must be familiar with Vitros
Medical Lab Technician experience

Role Overview

Under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, performs routine and special clinical laboratory tests to support diagnosis and treatment, following physician requisitions. Duties include:

Performing quality-control tests, analyzing QC data, and taking corrective action; holding patient results until out-of-control situations are resolved
Performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting instruments, and documenting all checks and repairs
Calling critical test results to physicians or nurses immediately
Performing specimen collection and processing as assigned, per Phlebotomy area policies
Participating in an on-call schedule with a 30-minute response time
Possibly coordinating education activities, and assisting with inventory control and quality-assurance activities
Maintaining regular, predictable attendance and working with minimal supervision
