Travel RN Opportunity - Emergency Department

Location: Independence, Missouri

Unit Information

• Department: Emergency Department
• Number of Beds: 40+
• Staffing: 120+ staff members
• Shifts:

  • Day Shift: CNC, Team leads, RN, Advanced Paramedic, EDT, MHSC, Secretary
  • Night Shift: CNC, Team leads, RN, Advanced Paramedic, EDT, MHSC, Secretary
• Patient Ratios: 4:1 (3 rooms and 1 hall bed in high volume)
• Equipment: Cardiac monitors, EKGs, Ultrasound, Belmont Rapid Infuser, IO Drills, Lifepak, etc.
• EMR System: Meditech

Required Skills & Experience

• Must Have:

  • Adaptability
  • Team player
• Preferred:

  • Experience working under high pressure
  • Previous medical experience (RN, Medic, Technician, etc.)

Typical Procedures

• IV starts and phlebotomy
• Cardiac monitoring and interpretation

Personality Fit

• Outgoing and positive under pressure

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) for RN
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) for Medic

Dress Code

• RN: Gray scrub top, black or gray scrub bottoms
• Medic: Gray scrub top, black or gray scrub bottoms
• EDT/Secretary: Caribbean blue scrub top, Caribbean blue or black scrub bottoms
• Appropriate colored T-shirts allowed under nursing scrub jacket or hospital-approved jacket
