Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit Name: 11 Tower
Number of Beds: 25
Patient Ratios: 1:4 / 1:5
Unit Staffing: US staff daily, PRN techs
Equipment: Basic equipment including Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, Alaris IV Pumps
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling: 4 weekend shifts required in a 4-week period
Floating Policy: Will float over core staff
Patient Experience: Bedside shift report, safety checks every 1-2 hours, focus on listening and responsiveness
Dress Code: Scrubs in Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, Ceil Blue

Job Responsibilities

Perform basic patient assessments
Provide general care and maintenance for wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes
Care for patients who may require dialysis or PCA pumps
Manage Heparin drips only
Post-op care including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, and wound vacs
Follow unit guidelines including:
- HAI prevention (CVC and Foley monitoring with standard precautions)
- Fall prevention
- 100% medication scanning including controlled substances
- Attendance per policy

Required Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) License for Tennessee
BLS Certification
Minimum 2 years of experience in Med Surg specialty
COVID-19 vaccination required
