Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Position
Location: Reno, Nevada
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist - Adults
- Shift: 3x12-hour shifts, rotating days of the week, varied shifts
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Call Requirements: None
- Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
- Travelers may be required to float within their competency level
- Must pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
- Employer may call off shifts with 48 hours' notice for low census during the 13-week contract
Licenses & Certifications Required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Nevada State License (must have in hand to submit application)
- Must apply for one of the following Nevada Point of Care licenses prior to start:
- Point of Care Analyst license
- Director of Point of Care
- General Supervisor of Point of Care
- Required Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of acute care respiratory therapy experience
- Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required
Job Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory therapy procedures per protocol and physician orders to improve cardiopulmonary conditions of patients ranging from newborn to geriatric
- Work primarily with patients in critical care units, adult general care, and pediatric general care
- Accountable for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patients and families
- Initiate or modify patient care plans under structured protocols
- Proper documentation of all patient records and department logs
- Stay current with technological advances and clinical applications
- Provide optimal and safe patient care requiring continuous mental effort
- Ensure a positive patient experience by:
- Introducing self and explaining procedures
- Listening empathetically and addressing patient concerns
- Performing service recovery when needed
- May provide respiratory care at secondary care sites consistent with organizational mission
