Travel RN Opportunity – Stepdown Unit

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri

Position Details

• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must specify on submission)
• Weekend Hours: As required, typically every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None
• Contract Type: Travel

Licensure & Certifications

• Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
• Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association only)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Stepdown nursing experience (inpatient only)
• Must have experience with respiratory care including trach and ventilator management
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Unit & Patient Information

• Unit Type: Med-Surg Intermediate Care (Stepdown)
• Number of Beds: 22
• Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 3-4 patients
• Patient Types: Respiratory failure, alcohol intoxication, overdose, GI bleed, electrolyte imbalance, COPD, cancer
• Equipment: Trach, ventilators, VAPO, BiPAP
• EMR System: EPIC

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
• Work within Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
• Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed

Physical & Work Environment

• Stand and walk most of the shift
• Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
• May work varying schedules and shifts based on patient care needs
• Exposure to blood and body fluids
• Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, crawling

Additional Information

• Flu vaccination required November 1 – April 1 (no declinations accepted)
• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift; availability for full orientation week required
• Dress code: Black scrubs only
