Unit Information

• Department: Surgery (Cardiovascular OR)
• Beds: 11 ORs plus a Cysto room
• Staffing: 31 total staff

  • Day Shift: 1 Director, 1 Charge Nurse, multiple Circulators and Surgical Techs, 3 Nurse Techs, 1 Anesthesia Tech, 1 Unit Clerk
  • Night Shift: No overnight shift
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• EMR System: Meditech

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 3 years recent cardiovascular surgery experience
• On and off pump CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting) experience

Preferred Experience

• Cardiovascular OR experience
• Vascular surgery experience

Typical Procedures

• Off Pump CABG
• On Pump CABG
• Vascular Bypass
• Carotid Endarterectomy

Certifications Required

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Work Schedule & Call Requirements

• Call coverage Monday through Friday, 3 PM to 7 AM (one RN covers call)
• When a second RN is added, call will rotate every other day and every other weekend
