Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Position
Location: Portland, Maine
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Position Details
- Specialty: Respiratory Therapy (RRT)
- Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: 36 to 48 hours (unless otherwise noted)
- Call Requirements: Yes, 2 hours for the oncoming shift
- Float Requirements: Must float as RRT with some NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, adult acute and critical care
Experience Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 3+ years in Respiratory Therapy (higher value between 2 and 3 years)
- Must Have Experience: Tertiary, teaching hospital experience; Level 1 trauma center experience
- Preferred Experience: NICU/PICU and Cardiothoracic experience
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Education & Certifications
- Required Certifications:
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) for NICU
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: Varies depending on daily assignments; coverage across entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs
- Patient Ratios:
- Acute care: 1:25
- Critical care: 1:8
- Equipment Used:
- Drager V500 and VN500 ventilators
- Hamilton T1 and C1 ventilators
- Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line
- Airvo and Vapotherm devices
- EMR System: EPIC

- Dress Code: Scrubs provided or flexible
- Type of Patients: Varied patient population including acute, critical, pediatric, and adult care
