Job Opportunity: RN - Cardiac Cath Lab

Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Cath Lab
  • Shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM (4 shifts per week, 10 hours each)
  • Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
  • Call Requirements: One weekend per month and one day per week on call
  • Number of Openings: 1

Unit Information

  • Unit: Cardiac Cath Lab
  • Number of Labs: 4
  • Patient Ratio: 1 team member per 1 patient
  • Equipment: Merge Hemo system
  • EMR: Merge Hemo / Cerner (transitioning to Epic in June 2026)
  • Type of Patients: Cardiac patients

Required Qualifications

  • Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of RN experience in Cardiac Cath Lab or related specialty
  • Skills:
    • Experience with IABP, Impella, Laser, Shockwave devices
    • Phillips panning experience
  • Preferred: Experience with Merge Hemo system

  • Float Requirements: None
  • Personality Fit: Team player, flexible, willing to take initiative, accountable, and timely
  • Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs; professional attire and scrub colors must meet CMS and organizational standards
  • Weekend Call: One weekend per month
