Job Opportunity: RN - Cardiovascular Surgery (Operating Room)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Registered Nurse (RN) needed for the Operating Room (OR) in a cardiovascular surgery setting. This role involves direct patient care for surgical patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN will coordinate with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort, working within the scope of nursing practice and facility standards.

Work Schedule

• Shift: Variable (4x10 or 3x12 hour shifts), Monday to Friday days
• Typical hours: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• Weekend and overnight rotating call required
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Weekend hours as needed

Required Qualifications

• License: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state license if applicable
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required (ACLS preferred)
• Experience: Minimum 3+ years of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Skills:

  • Ability to circulate and scrub in the OR
  • Experience in vascular or heart cases required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with multiple computer systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to provide quality bedside patient care
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of current inpatient, acute care hospital experience
• Heart and vascular experience is a plus

• Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1 (exemptions require approval)
• Dress code: Black scrubs
