Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician (CST) - Operating Room

Work Schedule

• Shifts vary based on need: 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts
• Call requirements: Yes
• Possible weekend shifts

Unit Overview

• Operating Room with 11 OR suites
• Approximately 40 staff members across all shifts
• Patient ratio: 1:1
• Equipment includes microscopes, Da Vinci Xi robot, Mako robot, laparoscopic towers, Stealth navigation, and hybrid endovascular room equipment
• Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech

Typical Procedures

• General surgery, orthopedic, neuro surgery
• Robotic surgeries (thoracic, general, gynecology, urology)
• Spine surgeries: X-lif, A-lif, decompression, ACDF, craniotomy
• Orthopedic trauma and total joint replacements (Mako robot)
• Cardiovascular surgeries: CABG, valve surgeries, aortic surgeries including trauma cases
• Endovascular procedures: TAVR, TCAR, TEVAR, EVAR, open vascular cases

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) technologist experience
• CVOR technologist experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Trauma surgery experience
• Vascular surgery experience including fistula creation and endarterectomy cases

• Flexibility to work in different OR rooms and handle various case types
• Ability to adapt to unit workflows and collaborate with staff
• Willingness to occasionally pick up extra hours (not mandatory)
• Supportive of orienting new graduate techs or RNs
