Registered Nurse (RN) - CCU

Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico

Shift: Nights, 7 PM – 7 AM

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse coordinates and implements patient care tailored to the patient population on assigned units. Ensures quality, efficient, and safe care consistent with unit standards. Demonstrates professionalism, respect, and effective clinical practice aligned with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient assessments and prioritize care based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
• Systematically reassess patients to monitor progress and identify needs for intervention.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, measurable plans of care within established nursing standards.
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions and modify care plans based on patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
• Perform and document timely interventions and Point of Care testing procedures.

Staff Coordination:

• Communicate effectively to achieve intended outcomes.
• Delegate and coordinate unit work assignments, ensuring quality and completeness.
• Follow appropriate chain of command to resolve issues.
• Participate in orientation of new staff and students.
• Serve as a resource to visitors, physicians, and staff.
• Promote a positive, professional, and supportive work environment.
• Engage in unit growth and organizational improvement efforts.
• Collaborate with team members to meet unit and organizational goals.

Customer Relations:

• Foster high patient/customer satisfaction and respect patient rights and confidentiality.
• Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Maintain the hospital’s credibility, integrity, and positive image.
• Support the mission, goals, and continuous service improvement of the organization.

Other Duties:

• Assist with special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification

Additional Information

• Floating to other units as needed.
• Full-time position.
