Speech Pathologist Travel Position - California, Salinas

Job Summary

• Provide speech therapy services under supervision of Speech Therapy Supervisor.
• Assess patients and develop/administer individualized speech therapy intervention plans.
• Schedule treatments, document patient progress, and instruct students assisting in therapy.
• Educate patients, families, and hospital staff regarding therapy and rehabilitation.
• Deliver care appropriate to patient age groups served.
• Support efficient patient return to highest possible independence.
• Maintain cost-effective treatment plans.
• Assist with orientation of new employees and volunteers.
• Adhere to hospital safety standards and ensure courteous interactions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Setting

• Inpatient hospital environment.
• Patient population includes adult MedSurg, ICU, and stroke patients.
• Experience with Modified Barium Swallow studies required.

Schedule

• 4 days per week.
• 10-hour shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in California.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Experience in an inpatient setting.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks.

Additional Notes

• Must be able to start with minimal training.
• Emphasis on patient assessment, care plan development, documentation, and safety adherence.
