Job Opportunity: RN Oncology Infusion Clinic - Adult

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Registered Nurse (Direct Care)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Under general supervision, provide nursing care to adult patients in an oncology infusion clinic setting. Care ranges from simple to complex health problems.

Key Responsibilities

Administer chemotherapy drugs, PO and SC injections, and other medications as ordered by physicians.
Consult with medical personnel and provide expert information about chemotherapy and side effects.
Document patient responses to treatments and note changes in physician orders.
Assist physicians during conscious sedation and minor diagnostic procedures.
Monitor physiological data and intervene as necessary.
Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families.
Provide chemotherapy-related education to patients and families.
Schedule patient follow-ups and coordinate care including referrals and phone triage.
Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Oklahoma
Oncology nursing experience of at least 1 year, including experience within the last year
Infusion nursing experience
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certification
Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or higher) from a board-approved program.
