Role Overview
- Children/Adolescent Psych Unit
- Night shift, 19:00–07:30
- Every other weekend and some holidays required
Required Qualifications
- Valid LPN / LVN license in New York
- Behavioral Health (1 year of experience)
- Behavioral Health experience within the last year
- BLS
- Psychiatric experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Peds experience
- Prior experience in an inpatient setting
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient care functions in an acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision
- Greet patients, direct them to exam rooms, and prepare for exams
- Assist during exams, including setting up trays for injections, measuring and recording patient progress, and taking and recording vital signs
- Assist with general office duties, reception, appointment scheduling, filing, and chart preparation
- Contact insurance companies for authorizations and primary care physicians for referrals or referral extensions
- Assist physicians in patient care
- Maintain exam rooms and clinical areas
- Administer injections and assist with paps and other procedures
- Implement nursing care activities under the direction of the primary or associate nurse
- Observe and report patient responses to treatments
- Participate in nursing unit management activities
Additional Notes
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records is strongly desired
