Intermediate Care Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel assignment in Wausau, Wisconsin
• 13 weeks
• Start: ASAP
• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
• Primary location: Aspirus Wausau Hospital
• Shift: 12-hour days, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Weekend/holiday requirement: every other weekend and every other holiday

Unit Details

• Aspirus Wausau Short Stay Unit (Intermediate)
• 8-bed observation unit
• Float scope: all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units
• Patient ratio: 1:4

Required Qualifications

• Wisconsin RN license
• BLS
• ACLS required, AHA or ARC
• 3 years of experience
• 1 travel assignment required
• Ability to read and interpret strips
• EPIC required

Preferred Qualifications

• NIHSS highly preferred

Clinical Background

• Background in observation units or MS/Tele units

Patient Population / Case Mix

• Anemia
• Cellulitis
• COPD
• Dehydration
• Pre- and post-op Urology and GI
• Cardiac drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin
• Average stay up to 48 hours
• High volume of admissions and discharges

Additional Notes

• Low census may reduce worked hours in 4-hour increments; this is not on call
• EKG exam required during compliance
• During flu season, travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccination must wear a mask at all times
