Job Opportunity: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
Location: Rio Rancho, New Mexico
Employment Type: Clinical - Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process.
- Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed or per protocols.
- Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout care.
- Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically.
- Complete patient population/age-specific education and competency testing per unit standards.
- Floating between departments or local locations within 20 miles is required.
- Must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test onsite before starting; one retest allowed. Failure to pass twice results in contract cancellation.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 2 years current experience in a large Emergency Department.
- Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment (prior travel experience required).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a flexible team player.
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.
Certifications & Licensure
- Valid New Mexico RN license or Compact State Nursing License.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be from American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system preferred but not required (training available onsite).
