Registered Nurse - Cath Lab

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Perform patient assessments addressing physical, psychological, socio-cultural, spiritual, cognitive needs, and functional abilities through systematic data collection and review.
  • Plan and prioritize patient care based on assessments; evaluate patient progress and revise care plans to achieve expected outcomes. Include patient and family in care planning and evaluation.
  • Demonstrate clinical competencies specific to the Cath Lab area as per departmental standards.
  • Assess patient and family learning needs, provide education, and evaluate teaching effectiveness.
  • Identify and respond to ethical issues in patient care; provide non-judgmental nursing care respecting patient diversity and rights. Serve as a resource for ethical dilemmas.
  • Initiate collaborative communication with physicians and coordinate multidisciplinary activities to plan, deliver, and evaluate patient care.
  • Act as a patient advocate.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, core measures, patient safety, and quality initiatives to achieve optimal clinical and organizational outcomes.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
  • Minimum of 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, with experience within the last year
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Experience

  • Specialty: Cath Lab Nursing
  • Required years of experience: Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Cath Lab experience
  • No prior travel experience explicitly required.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to provide and evaluate patient care.
  • Familiarity with organizational policies and procedures related to patient care.
  • Awareness of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ability to apply and modify nursing principles, methods, and techniques for ongoing patient care.
  • Strong problem identification and solution recommendation skills.
  • Competence in record keeping and report writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
  • Critical thinking and situational analysis skills.
  • Clear communication abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.
  • Frequent interaction with patients, families, physicians, employees, and visitors.

This position involves working in a Cath Lab environment providing specialized nursing care.
