Registered Nurse - SICU/MICU Contract

Job Overview

Location: New York, New York
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, every other weekend
Schedule: 3x12
Unit size: 24 beds
Average unit census: 17
Staffing ratio: 1:2

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New York
SICU - Surgical Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
SICU - Surgical Intensive Care experience within the last year
MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience
BLS
ACLS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
1 year of travel experience for travel positions

Preferred Qualifications

EPIC experience
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
Associate degree in nursing considered only with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN program

Key Responsibilities

Provide safe, competent patient care using the nursing process and evidence-based practice
Assess patient needs, prioritize care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, transitions, health promotion, and disease prevention
Support patient experience through therapeutic communication, rounding, and service recovery
Document nursing care accurately and thoroughly
Perform charge nurse duties as assigned
Help coordinate supplies, staffing resources, and patient throughput
Participate in quality improvement, safety, and professional development activities
