Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Shift: Night (Monday - Thursday, 5:30 PM – 4:00 AM)
Hours: 10 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The CT Technologist produces high-quality diagnostic images using imaging and computer equipment, ensuring images meet or exceed department and industry standards. Responsibilities include patient preparation, education, and responding to patient concerns with an age-appropriate approach. The role requires knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, patient positioning, imaging techniques, radiation safety, infection control, and quality control. The technologist also oversees and trains students in patient care and imaging procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify ordered exams and assess appropriateness using patient data and growth/development principles.
- Administer contrast as directed.
- Position patients and equipment to obtain optimal images.
- Collaborate with physicians to evaluate images and determine if additional images are needed.
- Apply radiation safety techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
- Prepare and educate patients, ensuring communication and safety needs are met appropriately for their age and development.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Kentucky.
- Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
- ARRT(CT) certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
