MS/Tele 7th Floor RN

Overview

• Travel contract for an experienced MS RN in Washington
• Unit: MS/Tele 7th Floor
• 32 beds
• 13-week contract
• 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week
• Self-scheduling with open shifts to fill
• Orientation/education hours are not guaranteed during the first 2 weeks; expect 25+ hours

Required Qualifications

• 2 full years of M/S experience
• Tele experience
• Active BLS
• ACLS
• WA license
• NIHSS
• EPIC experience
• RN must be able to titrate drips
• RN must validate Tele strips

Unit Details

• Medical/Surgical overflow
• Non-acute stroke patients
• Centralized Tele
• Ratios: 4:1 about 50% of the time and 5:1 about 50% of the time
• Nurse aides are on the unit, with average ratios of 8:1 to 10:1
• Common titratable or set-rate drips: insulin and pain medications
• RT/equipment on unit: Bipap and high flow

Schedule and Staffing

• Every other weekend
• One winter holiday and one summer holiday
• Possibly placed on standby; no call
• Floating required
• No RTO for the traveler’s first week on assignment

Preferred / Additional Notes

• Professional, clean attire; no jean-type clothing
• Highly functioning team with strong support and a family-oriented unit
