Job Opportunity: RN - Inpatient Pediatrics
Location: Bismarck, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
Seeking a Pediatric RN to work primarily in the PICU and general pediatric floor. The role involves managing critically ill patients requiring continuous nebulizers, BiPAP, DKA on insulin drip, as well as caring for 3-4 patients on the general pediatric floor when PICU census is low.
Unit Details
- Unit: PICU and General Pediatrics
- Bed Size: 17 beds
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:
- PICU: 1:1 or 1:2
- General Pediatrics: 1:3 or 1:4
- Equipment: EPIC electronic charting and medication system
Required Skills & Experience
- Must be able to care for patients in both PICU and general pediatric floor settings
- Certifications: PALS, BLS required
- Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated, but must be competent in PICU and general pediatric nursing
Schedule & Shift Details
- 12-hour night shifts (1830-0700)
- Approximately 36 hours per week
- Work every other weekend and holidays
Floating Assignments
- NICU (grower/feeder assignments)
- OB unit (assist as needed)
- House-wide float to provide 1:1 sitter support for safety or suicide precautions when census is low
Dress Code
- Navy blue scrubs or child-friendly colorful scrub tops with navy blue pants
Additional Notes
- Travelers typically receive a couple of orientation shifts
- Must badge in and out at the facility
- Local travelers with permanent addresses within 80 miles are not accepted
- Must disclose if previously worked at this facility with an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
