Job Opportunity: Rad Tech (X RAY Tech - 728)

Location: South Charleston, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Certifications & Licensing

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) registration required
• BLS (CPR-BLS AHA) certification required
• Must be licensed by the State of West Virginia (WVRT Board)
• Radiation badge provided by agency (not by facility)

Department & Equipment

• Department: Radiology - General X-Ray
• Imaging rooms:

  • 2 Routine X-ray rooms
  • 1 Fluoroscopy room
  • 1 Specials room in department
  • 1 Specials room in Endoscopy
  • 1 Routine room in PAT with stitching software (Scoliosis and leg length imaging)
  • 4 C-arms, 1 O-arm
  • Designated CYSTO room in OR
• Equipment includes GE OEC C-arms, Siemens Fluoroscopy Unit, AGFA PACS system

Job Duties & Imaging Types

• Perform routine X-rays
• Fluoroscopy studies (UGI, Esophagram, BE, etc.)
• Interventional Radiology procedures (Arthrogram, Myelogram, Nephrostomy, etc.)
• Scoliosis and leg length imaging
• Maintain patient comfort and safety during imaging
• Operate and maintain specialized imaging technology
• Keep detailed patient medical records

Experience & Skills Required

• Minimum 1 year experience in a hospital setting preferred
• Experience in OR and Fluoroscopy procedures preferred
• Good communication skills and empathy
• Knowledge of radiation safety measures
• Physical ability to position patients for quality imaging
• Attention to detail

Work Schedule & Requirements

• Shifts:

  • Day: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
  • Evening: 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
  • Night: 11:00 pm - 7:30 am
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday requirement: Yes
• No self-scheduling allowed
• No call or standby requirement
• Scrubs: Black scrubs required, not provided by facility
• Department-specific orientation provided

Additional Information

• Average scans/studies per day: 120 (Radiology/Fluoro combined)
• No floating or covering other areas required
• Radiologist available in-house
• No IV starts required
• No Registered Radiology Assistants (RRA) used
