Travel RN - IV/PICC Insertion

Location: Tacoma, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Vascular Access RN to provide dedicated IV therapy and vascular access care in a tertiary hospital setting. This is a travel contract position focused on peripheral IVs, ultrasound-guided IVs, midline and PICC line placement, port access, and central line dressing changes.

Required Qualifications

• Active Washington RN license (pending license submission accepted; temporary license takes ~4 weeks)
• Vascular Access Board Certified (VA-BC) preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Vascular Access RN
• BLS Certification

Skills & Experience

• Strong peripheral IV insertion skills
• Ability to place ultrasound-guided IVs
• Experience with PICC and midline placement (strong preference)
• Ability to access ports and perform central line dressing changes
• Ability to maintain a sterile field
• No requirement to titrate drips

Work Schedule & Environment

• Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Occasional holiday shifts
• No call or standby requirement
• No floating required
• Unit: IV Therapy Department – Vascular Access RN
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs preferred
• Orientation provided specific to IV therapy department and workflows

Additional Information

• Charge nurse or hospital supervisor available 24/7
• Patient population: Tertiary hospital patients requiring vascular access care
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 2 RNs scheduled on dayshift
