Occupational Therapist - Home Health

Location: Santa Maria, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a travel contract in home health care. The role involves providing therapy services within a designated geographical region. Candidates will primarily work Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexible shifts. Weekend work is required every third weekend, and minor holiday coverage may be needed.

Patient Population & Work Setting

• Home health care setting
• Common diagnoses include orthopedic conditions, strokes, joint and spinal injuries
• Experience with government-mandated OASIS documentation is required
• Home health experience preferred but not mandatory

Orientation & Work Environment

• Orientation period: 1.5 to 2 weeks
• Business attire with white lab coat required; no jeans
• Use of Cerner EMR system
• Rehab aides and assistants typically permanent staff

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist
• Active California OT license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Additional Information

• Weekend requirement: every 3rd weekend
• Minor holiday coverage; major holidays only if needed
• Flexible shifts, primarily standard business hours
