Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Meadville, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 15 weeks

Job Description

A hospital in Pennsylvania is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse for a 15-week assignment. The ICU unit has 14 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 in ICU and 1:3 in step-down units.

ICU RNs may be required to float to Telemetry and Med Surg units as needed. Candidates should confirm their willingness to float.

Patient Population / Common Diagnoses

• Respiratory failure
• Sepsis
• STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction)
• Post-TPA stroke
• Overdose
• Suicide attempts
• Shocks
• Heart blocks
• COVID-19

Work Environment & Support

• Intensivist available for consultation when not in hospital
• Each ICU room equipped with critical care tele-med camera and alert button
• Emergency Department physician and hospitalist available 24/7
• Night shift hours: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
• Weekend schedule: Every other weekend includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights

Required Certifications & Tests

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• IV and Medication test on first day
• Physical and drug screen required the week before start (unpaid)

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license appropriate for Pennsylvania
• Experience in ICU nursing (minimum years of experience not explicitly stated; assume relevant ICU experience required)
• Willingness to float to Telemetry and Med Surg units as needed
