Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Labor and Delivery (3 years of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- 3 or more completed travel assignments
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM)
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NRP Advanced
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Mother baby postpartum care experience
- Circulating in the operating room
- Scrubbing in the operating room
- Experience with Epic
Experience / Skills
- Acute care experience in Labor & Delivery and mother-baby postpartum care
- Ability to work across Labor & Delivery, postpartum, PACU for recovering mothers, and OR circulation
- Ability to float to mother-baby overflow if needed
- Ability to work independently with limited staff
Unit Notes
- 13-bed LDRP / Family Birthing Center
- No cardiac telemetry
- No nurse aides or surgical techs on the unit
- Charge nurse/house supervisor support is available
- Neonatologist is available but not in house; OB hospitalist coverage is in house most of the time and available on call within 30 minutes
- May be placed on call during low census
- Weekends and holidays may be required
- No block scheduling
- 3-shift unit orientation
- Scrub color/dress code is provided
Additional Considerations
- Facility is smoke-free and requires negative nicotine/cotinine drug screening
- STABLE would be a plus
