ER (Emergency Room) RN

Overview

• 13-week contract
• Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Location: Chandler, Arizona
• Unit: ER
• 60 beds, including 14 fast track beds
• Bedside triage
• Float scope includes Gilbert and Chandler ER, and may include the sister facility as needed

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of ER/Trauma Level 1 experience, recent within the past year
• Active BLS
• Active ACLS
• Active ATCN or TNCC
• Active PALS or ENPC
• Arizona license or compact license
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving the offer, with 2 maximum attempts
• Must pass a pass/fail Sim Lab on day 1 of orientation
• COVID vaccine required, or declination form with supporting documentation

Schedule Requirements

• Must be flexible to work all listed shifts
• Minimum 4 weekend shifts per schedule period
• Must work 2 of 3 holidays during the holiday season

Preferred / Additional Clinical Context

• Moderate conscious sedation competency testing
• Charge nurse and unit secretary support present
• Paramedics can start IVs
• RT and Pharmacy are available 24/7
• Common patient types include trauma, MVAs, GSW, blunt trauma, piercing trauma, CVA, MI, high risk OB, psych holds, cardioversions, and conscious sedation for closed fractures
• 11% pediatric population
• 80,000 visits per year
