Position Details

  • Specialty: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry
  • Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
  • Number of Openings: 1
  • Weekend Hours: As required, typically every other weekend
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Float Requirements: As needed to similar or lower acuity units

Licensure & Certifications

  • Required Licensure: Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
  • Required Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association only)
  • Preferred Certifications: ACLS (American Heart Association only)

Experience Requirements

  • Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in Medical-Surgical inpatient nursing
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Unit Information

  • Unit Type: Medical
  • Number of Beds: 60
  • Patient Ratios: 1:5 or 1:6
  • Equipment Used: Bladder scanner, vein finder, IV pumps, wound vacs
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and comfort
  • Utilize the nursing process consistent with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
  • Perform duties aligned with facility mission, values, and service standards
  • Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, bending, stooping, lifting and turning patients with assistance, and exposure to blood and body fluids
  • Push, pull, grip up to 50 lbs., pinch up to 15 lbs., minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling

  • Team-oriented, dependable, and flexible personality fit preferred
  • Dress code requires black scrubs only
  • Night shift orientation occurs on day shift; availability for full orientation week required

Additional Notes

  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for travel period November 1 - April 1; declinations not accepted
  • Holiday time off requests limited to one per assignment
  • No holiday time off approval for time off requests less than 5 days without making up hours
  • Auto-offer position contingent on facility approval
