Certified Surgical Technologist

Location: Watertown, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 8-hour day shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Schedule Requirements: Weekends, call, and holidays required
Travel Requirement: Must have prior travel experience

Job Description

Work within an Operating Room setting under the direct supervision of an RN.
Assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients by performing routine and delegated duties.
Perform technical duties related to scrub personnel, including maintaining a sterile surgical environment.
Ensure surgical equipment is functioning properly and safely.
Assist surgeons during surgical procedures.
May be asked to precept new staff.
Must be able to arrive within 30 minutes of being called in.

Required Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist with NBSTSA or NCCT certification.
Must have orthopedic (Ortho) experience.
Must have scrubbing experience.
Must have experience with DaVinci surgical systems.
Completion of an approved pharmacology course or previous medication experience with successful achievement in a medications exam.
Knowledge of cleaning, sterilization, and disinfection of operating room equipment and instrumentation.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Additional Information

Must be willing to work within a 100-mile radius.
Commitment to maintaining sterile technique and safety standards in the operating room.
