Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
Shift: Day shift, 4 shifts per 2 weeks (every other week), 12 hours per shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Schedule: Float position, minimal to no return to office (RTO)

Job Description

• Provide general Medical-Surgical nursing care
• Serve as Charge Nurse as needed
• Use Soarian EMR system
• Royal Blue scrubs required (not provided)
• Start date approximately 3 weeks from offer

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in Charge Nurse roles
• Valid Driver’s License

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Two recent supervisor/manager references (Charge RN references accepted but not preferred)
• Skills checklist updated annually
• NURSYS verification for RN license
• Proof of education (diploma or transcript)
• Background check: 7-year criminal history including SSN trace, counties, national sex offender registry, FACIS Level 3, nationwide check, and education verification
• Employment application/resume
• Performance evaluation if worked with the agency over 1 year
• Internal evaluation if worked with the agency over 1 year (for agency placements)
• I9 or attestation
• Government-issued photo ID (color copy of driver’s license required; black and white not accepted)
• E-Verify proof or attestation
• Facility-specific forms including IS115 and IS119 (time sensitive, must be wet signed or signed via DocuSign)
• Facility-specific HealthStream modules must be completed prior to first day
• Photo for badge: passport-style, shoulders up, plain background, no selfies, jpeg format, submitted within 24 hours of signing
• Business Associate Agreement if requested (agency form, time sensitive)

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Fit test completed onsite at no cost
• TB testing: QGold or TSPOT within 30 days of start (no PPDs accepted); if past positive, chest x-ray within 2 years and TB questionnaire within 30 days required
• Immunizations or proof of immunity (positive titer or vaccines) for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (9/3 through 3/31) unless approved medical/religious exemption is provided; exemption requires documentation and facility approval; mask must be worn if exempt
• TB questionnaire required for all candidates within 30 days of start

Additional Notes

• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of assignment location; proof of address required (driver’s license)
• Flu exemption requires completion of both agency and facility exemption forms with appropriate documentation
• Fingerprinting not required for RNs (only for CNAs)
• All required competencies and core training must be updated annually and uploaded with expiration dates

This position offers a 13-week travel contract as a Medical-Surgical RN on day shifts with a float assignment and requires a minimum of 2 years recent MedSurg experience. Candidates must meet all licensing, certification, health, and documentation requirements prior to start.
