Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry) - Travel/Contract

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Job Details

• Mixed acuity unit caring for Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical-Surgical (MS) patients
• 12-hour rotating shifts (days, nights, or combination) based on department needs; shift assignments reviewed every 4 weeks but not guaranteed
• Patient ratio approximately 1:5
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• First week orientation: Monday to Friday, dayshift
• Second week orientation: 36 hours on-unit with a preceptor

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience with Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Proficient in IV starts and tracheostomy management
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Certifications & Competencies

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA instructor/provider or RQI acceptable
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually (minimum passing score 76%)
• Unit-specific competency exam required
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required prior to start
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required annually

Additional Requirements & Notes

• Self-scheduling requests allowed before final schedule posting
• Background checks include social security trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide search, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle record if driving is required
• Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending at start
• Fingerprinting results must be obtained prior to start; new fingerprinting required if break in service exceeds 90 days or results are older than 1 year
• Fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
• Dress code and hand hygiene policy acknowledgment required for contracts signed 5/19/25 and beyond
• Ethics and compliance policies must be reviewed and signed annually for new contracts signed 11/7/24 and beyond

Shift & Hours

• Night shift (3 shifts of 12 hours each) from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week

This position offers a dynamic environment with mixed acuity patients and requires flexibility in shift assignments and unit float. Oncology experience is preferred but not mandatory.
