Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Telemetry) - Travel/Contract

Location: Garfield Heights, Ohio
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide nursing care on a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit.
• Must be able to accurately recognize ECG rhythms.
• Complete medication administration competency (SafeMedicate) during orientation with passing scores required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio.
• Telemetry nursing experience of at least 1.5 years, with experience within the last year.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Willingness to obtain NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification prior to start.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Orientation & Testing

• Orientation includes baseline competency exams for medication administration and ECG interpretation.
• Passing scores: 90% for medication exam, 80% for ECG exam.
• Prep materials provided before first attempt.
• Retake opportunities and remediation available if needed.
• Not required for candidates returning within 6 months from a previous contract at the same health system.

Additional Information

• Must complete all onboarding modules on a computer using Google Chrome; modules cannot be completed on a phone.
• Modules include training videos that must be watched before testing.
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract; results required prior to contract extension.
• Candidates may start with fingerprint results pending if fingerprinting is completed before start.
• Physical exam must include physician or lab address and accommodate latex allergies.
• Medical/religious exemptions for vaccines and fit mask must be approved through agency and facility process.
• Employment application must include at least 3 years prior work history with 2 years in acute care and similar specialty.

This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs licensed in Ohio or a compact state, who meet all certification and health requirements and are ready for a 13-week travel contract with a structured orientation and competency testing process.
