Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Worcester, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Role involves floating between Labor & Delivery (L&D) and Postpartum (PP) units in a true LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) setting.
• Assigned to a maternity float pool, requiring flexibility to work both L&D and PP.
• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM), totaling 36 hours per week.
• Schedule includes every other weekend and holiday coverage.
• Start dates available: June 10 or June 24 only.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum), including Labor and Delivery experience within the last year.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
• AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license or state ID).
• Massachusetts Statewide iCORI (criminal background) release and clearance within 30 days prior to start.
• 7-year criminal background check including SSN trace, county searches, national criminal search, and OIG/SAM checks.
• Education verification of highest completed degree (transcript acceptable if verification unavailable).
• NURSYS license verification within 30 days prior to start.
• Physical exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness to work without restrictions.
• Drug screening within 30 days of start, covering a comprehensive panel of substances.
• Immunizations or valid declinations for:

  • COVID-19 (most recent vaccine or facility-specific declination)
  • Influenza (seasonal vaccine or declination during flu season)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (declinations not accepted for maternity)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (3-dose series, reactive titer, or declination)
• Tuberculosis screening: Two PPD tests or QuantiFERON/T-Spot within 90 days; chest X-ray if positive TB history, plus TB questionnaire.
• References: Two professional references within the last three years.
• Employment application documenting 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days.
• Skills checklist updated annually as applicable.

Additional Information

• Up to 5 days of Return to Office (RTO) allowed.
• Local candidates are eligible for the same terms as travelers.
• Candidates must be aware that failure to pass required orientation exams results in immediate contract cancellation.
• Study materials for exams will be provided during compliance and orientation processes.
