Trauma RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Omaha, Nebraska.
• 13-week contract.
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30.
• 36-hour weekly option is listed in the source.
• 45-bed Trauma medical/surgical unit.
• The unit provides care to trauma patients with acute and chronic needs who are hemodynamically and medically stable.
• The role is fast paced.
• Travelers are first to float and should be prepared to float frequently to meet hospital staffing needs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Nebraska.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association.
• NIHSS.
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience).
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.
• One completed travel assignment.
• Experience in an Academic Medical Center or Acute Care setting.
• Trauma experience.
• Experience with Epic.
• Must be able to float within scope to meet facility needs, including potentially to Bellevue campus.
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays.
• Locals are not accepted; candidate must live more than 100 miles from the facility.
• Pending license is accepted, but if the license is not in hand at submission, the traveler will be booked six weeks out.
• Drips are required on all floors.

Preferred

• Flu vaccine is preferred, not mandatory.
• COVID vaccination is preferred.

Float Scope

• May float within scope to units including 4CS, 5 West, 6 Neuro, 4/5 Lied, 6/7 Lied, 7 HVU, 8 Werner, 9 Trauma, Bellevue MS, Observation, and SOTU.

Scheduling Notes

• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period.
• RTO up to 2 weeks is permitted and must be submitted with the application.
• Additional RTO requests after confirmation are at manager discretion.

• Scrubs are mandatory: Steele gray scrubs with the Nebraska Medicine logo printed on the back.
• Parking is available for a permit or daily rate parking.
• The facility is 100% nicotine free.
