Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Atlantic City, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:00 - 6:00)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Provide respiratory therapy services for adult and NICU units; NICU experience preferred.
• Pediatric experience preferred; may rotate on pediatric floor (not PICU) if experienced.
• Float between Atlantic City and Mainland campuses as needed.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Every 3rd weekend required.
• Use of ventilators and respiratory equipment including Servo I, Servo U, Trilogy, Oscillator, V60, Vapotherm.
• Cerner charting experience preferred.
• Uniform: Ceil Blue scrubs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in New Jersey
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience, including experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• E-Verify or attestation confirming work eligibility in the U.S.
• Background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including all locations lived/worked; international search if applicable).
• Education verification (diplomas or official transcripts).
• Physical exam signed by MD, NP, DO, or PA within 1 year of start.
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start and updated annually (not required for lab or sterile processing techs).
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Tdap within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; TB questionnaire updated annually.
• 10-panel drug test within 60 days of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); medical/religious exemptions require facility approval.
• Signed HIPAA statement and orientation safety manual acknowledgement.
• Pass/Fail “In House Skills Assessment” during orientation; failure may result in contract cancellation.
• Skills checklist appropriate to assigned unit completed within last 12 months.
• Work history documenting 2 years of recent, relevant experience.
• Two current references from supervisors or educators within past 2 years.
• Performance evaluation completed by agency within last 12 months.
• Core mandatory inservice training with passing scores required annually.

Additional Information

• Locals accepted with a rate differential if living within 50 miles of the facility.
• No fingerprinting required unless assigned to behavioral health units.
• Orientation dress code policy and other facility-specific documents required.
• Candidate must complete self-learning orientation and post-assessment test prior to start.

This position offers a focused opportunity for experienced respiratory therapists to work in a dynamic hospital environment with adult, neonatal, and pediatric patients on a travel contract basis.
