Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Bend, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per week: 36
- Unit: Labor and Delivery, including postpartum care
- Floating: May float within scope to a low-risk family birthing unit at a nearby campus
- On-call: Not required
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum of every other weekend or 8 weekend shifts during the contract
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (75-mile radius rule)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including postpartum care, with experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check (including SSN trace, counties lived/worked/school, FACIS L3, DOJ sex offender search, nationwide check) within 90 days of start; updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days of start
- Education verification and diploma/transcript on file
- NURSYS verification for RN license
- Photo for badge (passport-style, solid background) required within 48 hours of signing and no later than 2 Wednesdays prior to start
- Completion of facility-specific confidentiality, compliance, contractual, and emergency contact forms within 48 hours of signing and no later than 2 Wednesdays prior to start
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and titers:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test (QGold) within 1 year; for positive responders, negative chest X-ray within 5 years and annual TB questionnaire required
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Positive titers or vaccination for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B (titer required, vaccine series alone not sufficient)
- Negative 12-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (not required annually)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or agency declination/exemption required during flu season (ends 3/31)
- COVID vaccine preferred but not required; declination or exemption required if unvaccinated
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually
Additional Information
- First-time travel nurses are welcome
- No pending licenses accepted
- Return-to-Office (RTO) restrictions: 7 days
- Skills checklist required annually
- Must submit proof of address due to local radius rule
