Job Opportunity: Pharmacist Inpatient

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Operational Pharmacist role involving review, verification, and dispensing of medication orders.
• Preparation of sterile and hazardous medications according to USP standards.
• Management of controlled substances.
• Completion of medication histories, reconciliation, and patient education.
• Clinical responsibilities include performing clinical interventions, monitoring therapy for optimal outcomes, and providing drug information to healthcare teams and patients.
• Primarily evening shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM).
• Every other weekend required.
• Holidays required (1–2 based on contract length).
• No on-call or floating required.
• Experience with Pyxis and carousel technology preferred but not required.
• Epic charting experience preferred.
• Dress code: scrubs or business casual, any color.
• Must be fully vaccinated including COVID booster.
• First-time travelers accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Clinical Pharmacist license in New Jersey
• Minimum 1 year of clinical pharmacist experience within the last year

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
• Pharmacology competency exam required within 12 months of start; must score >80%.
• Pass/fail testing related to medication and competency exams may be required.

Background & Health Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start covering past 7 years.
• Physical exam or "Fit for Work" statement completed within 12 months of start.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start.
• Drug screening (10-panel urine drug screen) within 30 days of start.
• Must meet all vaccination requirements including flu and COVID-19 (no declinations accepted except approved medical/religious exemptions).
• Positive MMR and Varicella titers required with booster if low.
• Other health documents such as Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Hepatitis B titer preferred.

• Photo for badge must be passport style (headshot, no hats/masks, neutral background).

Schedule & Work Conditions

• Evening shifts primarily.
• Every other weekend and some holidays required.
• No floating or on-call duties.
• Scrubs or business casual attire allowed.
