Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Outpatient

Location: Cades, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation
• Shift: 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: No

• Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs or between like units/sister facilities

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in South Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel assignment as a Physical Therapist
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Work Environment

• Hospital-based outpatient rehab unit (not located on hospital campus)
• Charting system: Epic
• Scrub color: Charcoal gray
• Free parking available
• Local radius: 60 miles (locals not accepted)
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Important Notes

• During hurricane season (June through November, peak in August and September), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. New or extension assignments during this time should be considered carefully.
• Block scheduling accommodations: Not applicable

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Proof of work eligibility (I-9 form) and valid driver's license/state ID required
• Background check including 7 years of history, national and state criminal checks, sex offender registry, and international searches
• Education verification or diploma/transcripts as applicable
• Annual physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination form)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer or vaccination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug test within 90 days of start
• Respirator medical clearance annually for patient-facing roles
• COVID-19 vaccination is highly preferred but not required; vaccination records or declination form must be submitted
• Radiation badge may be required depending on assignment (not typical for outpatient PT)

Orientation and Onboarding

• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start (approximately 2 hours)
• Submission of a clear, passport-style photo for badge issuance
• Signing of assignment acknowledgment, confidentiality agreements, code of conduct, and other facility-required documents prior to start

References and Verification

• Proof of 2 clinical references required (hospital evaluations accepted)
• Performance evaluation dated within 12 months of start required
• Verification of last 3 clinical employers (or as many as applicable) required

This position is ideal for experienced physical therapists with prior travel contract experience who hold the appropriate licensure and certifications, and who are comfortable working in a hospital-based outpatient rehabilitation setting with potential floating responsibilities.
